Fredrik Bond was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He began his professional career as an editor working for the Swedish State Television channel 1 and broke into the commercial world as a director in London around 2000. He joined MJZ in 2002 and moved to Venice, California in 2004. In 2007, he co-founded SONNY with Helen Kenny in London, becoming one of the top-tier commercial production companies in the the world.
Since then, Bond has helmed iconic spots for Apple, Levi’s, Heineken, Adidas, Nike, HM, VW and Guinness amongst others. The industry accolades have followed. In addition to dozens of British Television and Advertising Awards, Fredrik Bond has earned Clios, Cannes Lions, AICP, Addys, D&AD, One Show honors and Emmy nominations. Bond is also an eight-time nominee for the Director’s Guild of America’s Best Commercial Director of the Year Award for 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018.
His directorial debut feature film THE NECESSARY DEATH OF CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN starring Shia Labeouf and premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a Golden Bear at the 2013 Berlin Film Festival. He’s repped by Management 360 and WME for feature films and TV.
He has two daughters, Lea and Keela, and a dog, Princess Cindy, with his wife Jenny.
